Nomad is cut from one piece of vegetable-tanned leather. There is no lining panel, no glued seam and no synthetic backing — just a single hide folded once, closed at the two side seams with waxed linen thread, and burnished along the opening by hand. It is the simplest construction that still protects a laptop, and it is the construction that ages best.

Vegetable tanning is the slow method: the hide spends weeks in plant-based tannins rather than hours in chrome salts. What you receive is a pale oak leather that feels firm and slightly dry, and what you have in a year is something else entirely — deeper in colour, softer in the hand, marked along the bottom edge where it has been set down on a thousand different tables. That patina is not wear. It is the material doing what it was made to do.

The fit is deliberately close. Sized for 14″ laptops, the sleeve holds the machine firmly enough that it will not slide out when the bag is tipped, while the opening is cut a few millimetres proud so the laptop can be drawn out with one hand rather than prised out with two. There is no zip, no magnetic flap and no Velcro — nothing that can scratch the aluminium, nothing that can fail.

Inside, the leather is left unlined so the natural suede face sits against the machine. It grips slightly, which keeps the laptop from shifting, and it will not abrade the finish the way a coarse synthetic lining eventually does.
